Institution Profile
UNIMAS is the 8th public university in Malaysia and the first university established after Vision 2020 was inspired. The university open up its door for 118 new students on 8 August 1993 with 30 academic staffs. The students enrolled into two pioneering faculties which is Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Science and Technology. Two academic support centers have also been established: the Center for Applied Learning and Multimedia, and the Academic Information Service Center.
The university has several campus and the main campus is located Kota amarahan, Sarawak which is a stater in the east of Malaysia. The campus can accommodate 20,000 students. The university also provided facilities for the special needs so that they can enjoy a comfortable life on campus.
The university will continue to emphasize technology as previously practiced by prioritizing ICT technology not only in teaching and learning but also in management. To date, the total number of UNIMAS students is 13,959 while the staff is 2,042.Category: Comprehensive University
