Institution Profile
Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) was established in 1994 and it is the 9th public university in Malaysia, located at the east Malaysia in the state of Sabah. The first student admission was in 1995 in which there were 205 students during the intake. UMS has two campuses; the main campus is in Teluk Sepanggar, another branch is in the Federal Territory of Labuan and School of Sustainable Agriculture (Sekolah Pertanian Lestari) at Sandakan, Sabah.
UMS had conducted an academic transformation by restructuring its 13 schools into 10 faculties starting of 1st June 2014. The transformation was made in order to overcome current and future challenges such as globalization of higher education, internationalization of higher education as well as marketability of its graduants.

UMS strives to achieve academic excellence and international recognition through its attention to learning and teaching, research and publications, social services and balance in knowledge specialisation. The university also prioritises the personal growth of its students,resulting in greater innovation and productivity for the benefit of society and the nation as a whole.

- To nurture universal humanistic values and open-mindedness coupled with a sense of service and dedication among academics, scholars, officials and auxiliary staff at the university to ensure optimum productivity.
